In recognition of National Homeless Awareness Week, November 16-22, the local United Way Community Impact Coalition is hosting meetings to discuss the Alexandria community’s housing needs and challenges.

The public is invited for a meal and discussion at one of the following four times.

•November 17, noon-1 p.m. at Marion Building downstairs meeting room.

•November 18, 6-7 p.m. at United Methodist Church.

•November 19, noon-1 p.m. at the 6th Avenue Community Center (formerly ECFE).

•November 20, 6-7 p.m. at Head Start.

Because seating is limited, call 1-800-492-4805 to register.

The goal of the discussion is to gather information from people who are experiencing difficulties regarding housing. This information will be used to inform local officials and government agencies of the needs of the community. In addition to that, it will also be used to assist in securing funds that address those areas.
