Alexandria swimmers and divers end regular season with loss

Erickson won her event in 1:08.73, while the medley relay team of Caroline Roers, Sarah Peper, Erickson and Dominique Evich won in 2:07.39 and the 400 free relay of Erickson, Lauren Allen, Andrea Hammje, Sam Thompson swam a 4:02.20 for first.

“There were several bright spots during the evening, however,” said Cardinal head coach Mark Storhaug of his team’s loss. “The Cards posted seven season bests, two coming from Ashley Rabehl, who was 1.5 seconds better in the 50 free and cut two seconds in the 100 breaststroke.

“Other noteworthy improvements were Marit Aaseng, who sliced two seconds in the 200 IM, Ellen Halvorson shaved 1.5 seconds in the 50 free, Zoe Weltzin was 1.5 seconds better in the 100 fly and Mackenzie Meier cut 1.5 seconds in the 100 free.”

The loss drops Alexandria to 2-7 in Central Lakes Conference action and 3-7 overall.

SECTION SWIM

The Section 8AA swimming and diving meet begins tomorrow, Thursday, in Willmar, with diving prelims at 6 p.m.

The finals for both swimming and diving will begin at noon on Saturday.
