Thompson, Erickson lead Cards at True Team swimming and diving

Sam Thompson had a pair of top-8 finishes and Rosey Erickson had one finish in the top-8 as the Cardinal swimming and diving team competed at the Section 8AA True Team meet in Elk River Saturday.

Thompson finished sixth in the 200 free with a time of 2:06.66 and seventh in the 100 free with a time of 58.29, while Erickson was fifth in the 50 free in 25.84.

Alexandria posted four season bests in the meet as Dominique Evich was 6.5 seconds faster in the 500 free, Ashley Rabehl was 0.5 seconds faster in the 50 free, Dana Reis cut 0.12 in the 100 free and Zoe Weltzin shaved 0.35 in the 100 fly.

The Cardinals also had eight top-16 finishes for the meet, which was won by defending state champion Maple Grove.
