State representative candidates to discuss disability issues

Residents of Stevens, Douglas, Grant and Todd counties can learn where candidates stand on issues affecting people with disabilities at a forum event for legislative Districts 11A and 11B.
Hosted by the Alexandria multiple sclerosis self-help group, the forum is from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Monday, October 13 at the Broadway Ballroom in Alexandria, 115 30th Avenue East.
It will be moderated by Joel Ulland, vice president of public affairs for the National MS Society, Minnesota Chapter. The goal is to provide constituents of Districts 11A and 11B an opportunity to hear from legislative candidates about issues affecting the disability community.
Candidates invited to attend include District 11A incumbent Representative Torrey Westrom, R-Elbow Lake, and opponents Bruce Campbell, D-Alexandria, and Dave Holman, IP-Morris; and District 11B incumbent Representative Mary Ellen Otremba, D-Long Prairie, and opponent Dave Kircher, R-Burtum.
