A reward is now being offered to catch the vandals who damaged Pooch Playland dog park in Alexandria last month.
The Alexandria Police Department and the Alexandria Parks Department is offering a reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
On the weekend of August 9-10 and again on August 12, someone deliberately drove over newly planted trees at the dog park, causing more than $4,000 in damage.
As of now the park is only accessible by foot, noted city park officials. People and their dogs have to park at the end of Victor Street and walk into the park.
There are a few residents in wheelchairs and scooters who no longer can use the park because they can’t get past the chained-off entrance.
If you have any information about these crimes, call the Alexandria Police Department at (320) 763-6631 or the Alexandria Park Department (320) 763-6678.
