Alexandria area YMCA flag football starting this fall

It’s back! The Alexandria Area YMCA proudly presents its Flag Football Program for boys and girls ages 4 through grade 3.

All participants meet for one-hour sessions (pre-kindergarten, ages 4-5 will meet for 45 minutes) starting September 13 and ending September 25.

The program will be held at Discovery Middle School on the football fields behind the tennis courts. Coaches will stress the fun in fundamentals while teaching the skills of football and then applying them in actual games.

Volunteer coaches will help coach each team. A coaches’ meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 10 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the YMCA office. All participants will receive a YMCA flag football T-shirt and medals.

Ages 4 and 5 will meet 9-9:45 a.m. Cost is $26.25.

Grades K-1 meet 10-11 a.m. Cost is $35.

Grades 2-3 meet 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Cost is $35.
