Evansville Arts Coalition is proud to announce a new exhibit featuring the award-winning artist, Millie Conard.
Conard’s work will be on display through the end of August at the Evansville Art Center. Gallery hours are Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Conard, who is from Alexandria, works with a variety of mediums and subjects. Her favortie approach is to start with a pencil sketch of the lakes, farm country, trees or still life.
“Rather than tiring of my surroundings,” she said, “I continually find more subjects to paint, or paint them with subtle changes or variations.”
Conard and her husband, John, raised three children in the Alexandria area.
When their first children went to school, Conard began her art education through Community Education, Fergus Falls Community College and then, Moorhead State College. She still enjoys attending workshops on a regular basis.
