Local students have a new option to consider as they finalize plans for the upcoming school year.

It’s called iQ Academy Minnesota, an online school for students across the state in grades 6-12. It will open its virtual doors for the 2008-09 school year this fall.

Local Alexandria students and families can learn more about this education option at an open house that will be held on Saturday, August 16 at the Alexandria Holiday Inn from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Families can take a tour of the virtual classroom and meet with students and staff, who can offer perspectives on their interest in online education.
