Garage sale will help Someplace Safe

Tastefully Simple’s community service program, Kids in the Community, is sponsoring a garage sale on Saturday, August 2 with proceeds going to Someplace Safe of Douglas County.

Tastefully Simple’s community service program, Kids in the Community, is sponsoring a garage sale on Saturday, August 2 with proceeds going to Someplace Safe of Douglas County.

Toys, clothing for kids, children’s shoes and additional kid items will be sold at the Knights of Columbus building from 8 a.m. until noon.

“Someplace Safe does so much to protect families from troubled situations that it’s important we help that service continue,” said LaTresse Snead, Tastefully Simple’s community relations team lead. “And the kids involved in the event gain valuable experience about nurturing the community in which they live.”

The public is encouraged to support the event by making purchases or donations at the sale. The Knights of Columbus building is located at 722 6th Avenue East in Alexandria.

Kids in the Community is a service program that aims to encourage youth involvement in serving community needs. From cleaning local parks to planting flowers for senior citizens, this enriching program offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for all ages.

Tastefully Simple is the original national home taste-testing company featuring gourmet foods and gifts.
