Bike/Ski Club hosts race July 13
The Alexandria Bike and Ski Club will be holding its first-ever Alexandria 35 Bike Race this summer.
The Alexandria Bike and Ski Club will be holding its first-ever Alexandria 35 Bike Race this summer.
The event is set for July 13, with registration starting at 9 a.m. at Second and Irving Street in the park by the bike trail. The race begins at 11 a.m. at Alex Extrusion.
Cyclists can enter the race or just take part in a bike tour. The course for the race will be 37 miles long, with the tour being approximately 12 miles shorter.
Trophies will be handed out for first, second and third-place finishers in the men’s and women’s divisions. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group as well.
Cyclists who are interested are encouraged to sign up in advance. Pre-registration cost is $15, while those registering the day of the event must pay a $25 entry fee. The entry fee for participants who are 18 years of age or younger and cyclists who just want to take the tour must pay a $10 entry charge.
