Man pinned under tractor

A 28-year-old Barrett man suffered serious injuries in a tractor accident Tuesday.

The victim, William Saathoff, called the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on his cell phone shortly after 5:30 p.m. He said he was pinned under a tractor and needed medical help.

At the time, he wasn’t able to give a detailed location, other than near Highway 27 West and County Road 1.

Dispatchers called out the Kensington Fire Department, Kensington First Responders, North Ambulance, deputies and the State Patrol.

Rescuers found Saathoff at the address of 22344 State Highway 27 West in Solem Township, about three miles north of Kensington.

He was removed from under the tractor and transported to the Douglas County Hospital. Later, he was air-lifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

As of Thursday morning, he remained hospitalized in serious condition.
