Incumbents prevail in four township elections
Election results are in for the four townships in Douglas County that had contested races Tuesday.
Election results are in for the four townships in Douglas County that had contested races Tuesday.
Here’s what happened:
LaGrand Township – incumbent supervisor Jim Jensen was re-elected with 294 votes. Challenger Burke Kiger received 39 votes.
Leaf Valley Township – incumbent Jay Baldwin was the winner in a three-way race for supervisor. He received 59 votes while Joel Wussow received 12 votes and Herb Guenther collected eight votes.
Millerville Township – with 43 votes, incumbent supervisor Larry Carlson defeated Chuck Rose. Incumbent clerk Marilyn Bitzan, 48 votes, defeated Judith Hanson. There were 55 voters.
Osakis Township – incumbent supervisor Brian Niehoff held off three challengers, receiving 65 votes to Robert Walsh’s 20 votes, Eric Jacobson’s 10 votes and Ron Ramey’s two votes.
