One person was airlifted to an unknown hospital Thursday following a two-vehicle accident outside of Nevis.
Two others were taken by ground ambulance to St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids with lacerations. One was the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash. She was initially unconscious.
The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 18 and 219th Avenue.
County Road 18 was closed off, but it still did not give the helicopter room to land, so ground ambulances transported the passenger of a white sedan to Hubbard County Road 2 north of Nevis to load the victim into the air ambulance.
It took emergency personnel about 20 minutes to free the trapped driver; 15 minutes to get the passenger out.
The State Patrol, Hubbard County, Nevis Fire & Rescue and North Memorial Ambulance responded to the scene.
