The public is invited to attend a “Drawn to the Word” worship and artistic experience on Friday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 822 Douglas Street, Alexandria.

Artist and Pastor Paul Oman will paint a larger-than-life-sized mural to share the story of Christ’s passion. It will unfold artistically, musically, narratively and scripturally during the service.

As an associate staff member of Vibrant Faith Ministries of Minneapolis, Oman seeks to give new vision to God’s Word by using the process of painting to captivate audiences.

Painting and drawing have been a part of Oman’s life since childhood. In 2010, he received international acclaim as a watercolorist. He most recently served as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church of Birchwood, Wisconsin, until 2011 when he took up work as a full-time artistic pastor.

Oman shares his Drawn to the Word ministry with congregations, conventions, retreats, camps, seminaries, colleges and other gatherings ecumenically across the country.
