Letter - Bank deposits of Americans have been taxed for years
The people of the Island of Cyprus are alarmed over their government’s decision to tax personal bank deposits.

The people of the Island of Cyprus are alarmed over their government’s decision to tax personal bank deposits.
This is not a new concept. Mr. Bernanke has been “taxing” American bank deposits for several years. The tax comes in the form of artificially low interest rates, but the end result is essentially the same.
