It was a fast start for the Knights, who jumped to a 39-16 halftime lead over Hancock Monday night, then cruised to a 64-32 win in the 6A-South opener.
“We played well against a team that has been hot lately, and we got contributions from the whole team again,” said head coach Kraig Hunter. “Dakotah Kashmark sparked us early and we had a good defensive effort.”
Kashmark had 14 points, all in the first half, and added eight rebounds and four assists.
Jay Zimmerman led the team with 16 points and nine rebounds, adding three assists, three steals and two blocked shots.
Brady Combs hit double figures as well, notching 12 points and pulling down four rebounds.
The Knights were to have traveled to Battle Lake last night, Thursday, for the quarterfinals.
