Alexandria Garden Club starts new season
Ever wonder where to plant it, how to plant it and when to plant it? The Alexandria Garden Club’s monthly informational meetings can help answer many of those questions.
Ever wonder where to plant it, how to plant it and when to plant it? The Alexandria Garden Club’s monthly informational meetings can help answer many of those questions.
Over the course of a year, the club offers occasional guest speakers, garden tours, an annual plant sale in May, a potluck dinner and garden tour in August at the Douglas County Runestone Park, and a Christmas luncheon in December.
For many years, the club has planted and maintained the flower beds at the Douglas County Hospital and Bethany Home.
The Garden Club is open to any community members, young or old, novice or master gardener, male or female.
The club meets the second Monday of each month (except January and February) in the lower level of the First Congregational Church in Alexandria.
The first meeting of the 2013 season will be Monday, March 11 at 1 p.m. The program will be on effective composting, presented by Bruce Wenner.
