Lorraine Flowers, 88

Lorraine Mary Flowers, age 88 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Ecumen-Bethany Home in Alexandria.

Lorraine was born July 4, 1924 in Sauk Centre to Hubert and Katherine (Essler) Rousslang. She was united in marriage to Howard Flowers on April 28, 1947 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Her joy in life was taking care of her family.

Lorraine has resided at Lakeshore Estates in Sauk Centre for the last two years. She enjoyed embroidering, playing cards, word search puzzles, bingo and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers.

Survivors include her children, Judy (Kevin) Powers of Alexandria, MaryLou (Dan) Keating of Mayville, ND and Jim (Kristy) Flowers of Sauk Centre; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and brother, Lawrence Rousslange of Sauk Centre.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Flowers, on November 18, 2008; son, Eugene Flowers on December 24, 1948; brothers, Aloysius “Jack” and Anthony Rousslang; sister, Irene Bieringer; sisters-in-law, Sally, Francella and Helen Rousslange; and brother-in-law, Edward Bieringer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 6 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with the Rev. Ken Riedemann officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Serving as casket bearers will be her grandchildren, Chris Powers, Katie Powers, Craig Keating, Mike Keating, Jason Keating, Jenny Keating, Max Flowers and AJ Flowers. Cross bearer will be Evelyn Keating and scripture bearer will be Conner Powers. Reader will be Dan Keating. Honorary bearers will be her friends at Lakeshore Estates.

Visitation is Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday starting at noon at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be Tuesday at 5 p.m. followed by the Christian Mothers at 6 p.m.
