Section 8AAA girls' basketball: Cardinals reach finals
The Alexandria girls' basketball team will face familiar foe Fergus Falls in the championship of the Section 8AAA tournament on Friday at St. John's University.
The Cardinals battled their way to the title game with a 50-40 win over Thief River Falls in the semifinals.
Alexandria fell twice to the Otters during the regular season as Fergus Falls, now 28-0, won both Central Lakes Conference matchups.
Fergus Falls defeated Sartell in the other half of the Section 8AAA semifinals 58-38.
