Free breakfast

Saturday, March 9: The United Methodist Church, 2210 East 6th Avenue, Alexandria, will offer a free breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. For a ride or information, call (320) 763-4624.

Beef dinner

Sunday, March 10: The Catholic United Financial Council is hosting a matching grant braised beef dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the parish hall of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church in Millerville. The menu includes beef, mashed potatoes, corn, coleslaw, salads and bars. Adults are $8, children ages 6-12 are $4, and preschool children are free. Proceeds benefit religious education.

Chili cook-off

Saturday, March 16: Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City will host a chili cook-off and silent auction from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The entry fee is $10, taste testing is $5. Sunday luncheon

Sunday, March 17: Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Nelson will have a soup and sandwich luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu includes various soups; build-your-own sandwiches with a selection of breads, meats and cheeses; milk; coffee and desserts. A free will offering will be taken. Everyone is welcome.
