'The Maltese Falcon' hits airwaves

Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:

ON STAGE

LAT will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an Irish tale, Jack the Cunning Thief, on Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m.

Directed by Tim Ray, the show stars Mikko Cowdery, Anne O’Flynn, Bruce Kelley, Jon Provance, Lindsey Johnston, Quincy Roers and Gary Lund. Lund will also provide sound effects.

Wear green to get $1 off the $5 admission.

ON THE AIR

The community has been reading and studying The Maltese Falcon through community education. As part of the study, LAT will produce a show from a radio script adaptation on Sunday, March 3 on KXRA 1490 AM at 12:30 p.m.

The show was directed by Paul Schoenack and stars Quincy Roers as Sam Spade, Sharon Thalmann, Philip Goellner and Mike Roers. Bob Piotrowski provided the music, with Kent Garlinghouse providing sound effects.
