Letter - Last line of defense is armed citizen
With the cry for more gun laws, that they might save even one life even though they will take away some of our Constitutionally-granted rights, is it going to be worth the price?
To the editor:
With the cry for more gun laws, that they might save even one life even though they will take away some of our Constitutionally-granted rights, is it going to be worth the price?
What about the current laws and the studies that indicate firearms are used more than a million times a year for personal protection and that the mere presence of a firearm, without a shot being fired, prevents a crime in many instances?
Why don’t the media tell us this? Could it be that they don’t want the public to know or is it that it is not sensational enough and they cannot show pictures of bad looking guns and get a bunch of people crying in the background.
I have to give our governor credit in realizing many of these proposed laws are just cosmetic and are meaningless, feel-good paperwork.
Our last line of defense is the armed citizen.
