Boys' basketball: Minnewaska falls to Hillcrest, Albany
The Minnewaska Lakers rallied back from a 13-point halftime deficit to Hillcrest Lutheran, outscoring the Comets 33-29 in the second half, but fell short in the final moments for a 63-54 loss.
Isaiah Adams led the Lakers, scoring 18 points, including an 8-for-8 performance at the free throw line. He also had five rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Austin Ostrander added 13 points, four rebounds and one assist, and Jake Amundson had 10 points and five rebounds.
Hillcrest was led by Dan Nersten with 29 and Calveti Nyabingi with 21.
The Lakers, who are 10-13 overall and 7-8 in West Central Conference play, have just one regular season game remaining on Friday when they host Eden Valley-Watkins. Minnewaska was at Albany Monday night.

The Albany boys held off Minnewaska on Monday night in a 69-55 West Central Conference match-up.
The Lakers got 21 points and eight rebounds from Austin Ostrander and 11 points from Austin Lieser and Isaiah Adams. Only three other Minnewaska players scored as the team shot 39.6 percent from the field (19-48). The Lakers also hit just 4-of-16 shots from three.
Minnewaska (10-14, 7-8 WCC) has one more game on the regular-season schedule tonight, Friday. Eden Valley-Watkins will visit as the Lakers try to snap a two-game losing streak before the start of the Section 6AA playoffs.
