Girls' basketball: West Central Area tops Wheaton-Herman/Norcross
West Central Area’s Kelsey Hammer had 19 points to lead the Knights to a 60-42 win over section foe Wheaton-Herman-Norcross on Friday night.
Hammer added four assists and five rebounds to help secure the win. Holly Van Kempen added 17 points and eight rebounds, while Christina Kruize had eight points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals.
The win wrapped up the regular-season on a positive note for the Knights. They entered the Section 6A tournament on Monday night as the eighth seed, and defeated Ashby 47-37. They will played top-seeded Parkers Prairie lat night, Thursday.
