'Asking the Big Questions' event examines reality TV

The next Asking the Big Questions discussion will take place on Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in the McGinnis Room of Rodney Briggs Library in Morris.

MORRIS, Minnesota -- The next Asking the Big Questions discussion will take place on Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in the McGinnis Room of Rodney Briggs Library in Morris.

This discussion will address the topic of reality television and its effects on American culture.

Participants will explore questions regarding the origins of reality TV, its popularity compared to traditional television programming, and its reflection on our culture and values. Barbara Burke, associate professor of communication, media, and rhetoric, will be the featured speaker.

Asking the Big Questions is a campus/community discussion group that focuses on important issues of the day. This event is co-sponsored by Briggs Library and the Sociology Discipline.
