Twenty-three 10th grade students from Germany listened to a presentation on the American fur trade era from 1760 to 1840 presented by Dennis Johnson at the Runestone Museum in Alexandria Friday. They also toured the museum and delved into the controversy of the Kensington Runestone.
The students from Buehl and Ahaus are part of an exchange effort, the German American Partnership Program.
The students are staying in Melrose for two and a half weeks before moving on to Chicago and then returning to their home country.
