St. Mary's to host Lenten Renewal

The Church of St. Mary in Alexandria will host Your Faith Journey, Make it a Lent to Remember March 2-4, under the direction of Father Tim Nolan.

The Church of St. Mary in Alexandria will host Your Faith Journey, Make it a Lent to Remember March 2-4, under the direction of Father Tim Nolan.

Pope Benedict XVI designated 2013 as a time “to lead men and women out of the desert they are often in and toward the place of life: friendship with Christ, who gives us fullness of life.”

Nolan’s Sunday evening message, “Accepting God’s Love without Reservations,” will expand on that designation. His Monday evening message, “Roadblocks to Accepting God’s Love” will help people “appreciate the gift of faith, deepen our relationship with God and strengthen our commitment to sharing our faith with others.”

Nolan will preach at St. Mary’s Masses on Saturday, March 2 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 3 at 8 and 10 a.m. In addition, he will give one hour talks on Sunday and Monday evenings, March 3-4 at 7 p.m. in the church. The public is invited.

Nolan was ordained in 1967 for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. He has served as chaplain at Benilde High School, spiritual director at St. John Vianney Seminary and the Archbishop’s liaison to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Nolan was founding pastor of the Church of St. Paul in Ham Lake. He retired from St. Paul in 2004 after 23 years as pastor.

He now resides at Pacem in Terris, near Isanti, a Hermitage retreat center, where he joins the staff in ministering to hermit/guest/retreatants. He has conducted numerous retreats in the U.S. and abroad.
