Letter - Why jump through hoops for prices?

Why should we have to have a discount card, a rewards card, a store card, in order to get the advertised price?

To the editor:

Why should we have to have a discount card, a rewards card, a store card, in order to get the advertised price? Or that price after mail-in rebate? At some stores, you can only use the rebate in their store.

And, coupons… why should we have to cut out little pieces of paper to get the advertised price? And why should we have to buy two or three of one item to get a lower price?

Let’s just shop at stores that offer competitive prices without having to jump through hoops. Stores make a bigger profit if you don’t go by their rules; they hope you’ll lose your rebate slip or coupon, or don’t mail in for a rebate.
