Area students participate in Region 8AA Central Vocal Solo and Ensemble Contest
On Wednesday, January 30, the Alexandria Jefferson High School (JHS) Vocal Music Department brought 43 students to the Region 8AA Central Vocal Solo and Ensemble Contest in Little Falls.
Alexandria had 21 entries, and from those, 14 were rated as “Superior,” and six were rated as “Excellent.”
All of the school’s ensembles – The Silhouettes, Les Marquise, Pop Group, sophomore quartet and Barbershop Quartet – received highest honors.
JHS senior Courtney Wosepka was selected as “Best in Site” by one of the five judges.
Other schools participating were Little Falls, Willmar, Sartell, Sauk Rapids-Rice and Brainerd.
