As part of Community Read, One Community, One Book’s series of presentations on The Maltese Falcon by Dashielle Hammett, historian Rachel Barduson will share an evening of storytelling with audience participation and interaction.
The event will be on Thursday, February 21 at 7 p.m. at the Douglas County Library meeting room in Alexandria. The event is free and open to the public.
The storytelling will determine whether the history-based stories and mysteries are accurate with facts, embellished with fiction or actually folklore written by community leaders.
One mystery is based on the board game Clue, and the audience will have to decide “whodunit” by meeting notorious Douglas County “suspects.”
Barduson was born and raised near Evansville and currently lives on Lake Carlos north of Alexandria. She does public speaking and community tours on history-related topics. She also writes and designs heritage storybooks for personal family history.
Barduson can be reached at raebard@
