Camp Ripley to be honored Saturday with distinguished guest
The Chief of Defense for Norway General Harald Sunde will visit Camp Ripley, Minnesota on Saturday, February 16, to recognize and honor the 40th Anniversary of the United States / Norwegian Reciprocal Troop Exchange program.

honor the 40th Anniversary of the United States / Norwegian Reciprocal Troop
Exchange program.
"This is a great honor for Camp Ripley and the Minnesota National Guard",
said Col. Scott St. Sauver the post commander for Camp Ripley. "The Chief of
Defense is the highest ranking military officer in the Norwegian military and
his presence here this Saturday is testimony to how important this 40th
Anniversary is", St. Sauver added.
Gen. Sunde will help dedicate a monument that was gifted from the Norwegian
Home Guard to the Minnesota National Guard. Additionally while at Camp
Ripley he will conduct a press conference, view troops in training, and
participate in a "Come Together" meal that is hosted by the Norwegian Home
Guard every year at Camp Ripley.
