Alpine skiing: Schneider punches ticket to state

Alexandria freshman Jack Schneider was the lone Lakes Area Alpine ski team member to qualify for the state meet after he finished eighth at the Section 5 race last Thursday.
Schneider competed in a field of almost 100 male skiers and paced the LAA boys’ team to a seventh-place finish out of 20 teams. The Lakes Area girls’ team took 14th at the section meet.
The state meet will be held today, February 13, at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
