The Unity Foundation invites everyone to attend the monthly Faith at Work Lunch on Friday, February 15 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Broadway Ballroom in Alexandria. Tickets are $10 per person.

The speaker this month is Art Erickson, and his topic is “How Do You See Your City?”

Erickson was raised in Chicago’s near North side and grew up immersed in a family contract manufacturing enterprise with 600 employees that produced cosmetic and dental products.

He went to St. Paul to attend Bethel University, where at 21, he committed his life to Jesus Christ. Within weeks, he was involved in Young Life, which led to a specific call to full-time ministry to youth. He soon joined the Young Life staff and attended Bethel Seminary.

Erickson became the Young Life Minneapolis Suburban area director and developed and started eight Young Life clubs in nine years.

In 1993, Erickson co-founded Urban Ventures Leadership Foundation and established headquarters in the middle of Minneapolis’ “Crack Alley,” a neighborhood that also included the Alexander brother’s pornography empire.

Erickson and his wife, Kathy, have five children and 11 grandchildren.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Mustard Seed Book Store or at the door.
