As part of Douglas County Library’s “Mystery Month” focusing on The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett, the University of Minnesota Raptor Center will present a program for all ages.

The Raptor Center will display four different birds of prey, including an eagle, on Saturday, February 16 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Alexandria Technical and Community College gym in Alexandria.

This program is geared toward kids, but the library invites all community members interested in raptors to listen and learn with the Raptor Center’s specialists.

The Raptor Center is an internationally known clinic for raptor rehabilitation and education. It treats up to 700 birds each year, giving them the ability to heal and eventually be released back into the wild.

This project is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural heritage fund and is sponsored by the Douglas County Friends of the Library. It is made possible in part with a Legacy Grant.
