Alexandria cruised through the first five weight classes to get a leg up on St. Cloud Tech, coming away with a 34-26 victory Friday night in a warm-up to the Big Ole Invitational wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Ben Bogart, Trent Piepenburg, Blake Olhausen, Tristan Johnson and Jacob Schiltgen gave the Cardinals a 22-0 start, then added wins by Tony Hubbard, who pinned his opponent, and Quinton Kluver and Justin Cumberbatch earning decision victories.

Alexandria now has a 5-3 Central Lakes Conference record, trailing unbeaten Sartell and Brainerd at 5-1.
