The Jefferson High School (JHS) Math League participated in the Central Lakes Conference (CLC) math contest on Wednesday, January 23.
The Alexandria team finished in 3rd place. Team scores were St. Cloud Tech (297), Sauk Rapids (267), Alexandria (256), Rocori (199), Sartell (145) and Fergus Falls (38).
CLC math meet participants included Kalli Bowser, Carl Branch, Eric Branch, Anna Erickson, Tyler Kay, Marisa Larson, Mitchell Maday, Mitchell Peck, Kyle Pietrowski, Will Reed, Halley Score, Taylor Score, Brandon Thoennes, Ally Timm, Ben Tollefson, Cody Weisel and Marissa Wheeler.
Team scores for this contest were calculated by combining the scores of the top eight individuals for each school. All-conference honors were given to individuals who placed in the top 15. All-conference honorable mention honors were awarded to those students placing 16th-25th.
For Alexandria, Taylor Score earned all-conference honors, and Kalli Bowser received honorable mention. Score answered 38 of 40 questions correctly. He tied with five other students for the top score but ended up finishing in fifth place after tie-breakers. Bowser answered 34 of 40 questions correctly and finished in 21st place.
