The Minnewaska boys’ basketball team held on for a 58-56 win over Benson in a West Central Conference match-up last Friday night.
The Lakers were up by 10 at the half and held on down the stretch behind 16 points and seven rebounds from Austin Lieser. Jayden Beecher added 12 points and Jake Amundson finished with 11. Isaiah Adams controlled the boards with 14 rebounds to go along with his nine points.
The win moved Minnewaska to 4-6 in the WCC and to 5-10 overall. The Lakers were scheduled to welcome in Montevideo last night, Thursday, before going to the Target Center in Minneapolis to play Osakis this Saturday at 1 p.m.
