Torgrimson named state officer
Brittany Torgrimson of Alexandria, a student at Alexandria Technical and Community College, will serve as vice president of the Minnesota Association of SkillsUSA. She was elected at the annual SkillsUSA Delegate Conference. SkillsUSA officers must be nominated by their school, receive support from administration, have three letters of recommendation, pass a knowledge test and complete an application prior to campaigning and attending the conference. SkillsUSA is a national organization that serves teachers and students preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

Lucas Dolan of Alexandria, son of Michael and Ruth Dolan, was named to the fall 2012 dean’s list at Hamline University in St. Paul for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Dolan is a graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria and is majoring in philosophy.
