Douglas County Hospital offers breast-feeding classes

The Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria will host a series of breast-feeding classes throughout 2013.

Multiple topics will be covered, including benefits of breast-feeding, how the breast works, basics of learning to breast-feed, supplies needed to succeed and returning to work and breast-feeding.

The classes will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the following dates:

--Thursday, February 21

--Monday, April 15

--Monday, May 13

--Monday, July 1

--Monday, September 9

--Monday, November 4

--Monday, December 16

Mothers and birth partners are encouraged to attend during their third trimester. The cost is $25 per couple.

The classes will be held in the lobby conference room at the Douglas County Hospital, 111 17th Avenue East.
