RESOLUTION ORDERING

ADOPTION OF SUMMARY OF

ORDINANCE 125

ZONING ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of October, 2012, proper notice being provided, the Alexandria Township Planning Commission held a public hearing on the adoption of amendments to Zoning Ordinance #124 and recommended adoption of amendments at their regular meeting on the 19th day of December, 2012; and

WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of January, 2013, the Alexandria Town Board, at a regularly scheduled meeting, accepted the recommendation of the Planning Commission and adopted Ordinance 125 (Zoning Ordinance); and

WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of January, 2013, at a regularly scheduled township board meeting, proper notice being provided, the Alexandria Town Board approved the wording of the Summary of amendments to Ordinance 124; and

WHEREAS, the Town Board has determined that the title and summary of the ordinance clearly tells the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE TOWN OF ALEXANDRIA, DOUGLAS COUNTY, MINNESOTA:

1. The following Summary of Ordinance 125 clearly tells the public of the intent and effect of amendments to Ordinance 124 and the overall intent of Ordinance 125, Zoning Ordinance, and shall be published in the Alexandria Echo Press, Alexandria, Minnesota, once within 20 days of the date of this Resolution. The original Ordinance in its entirety shall be recorded in the Town's Ordinance Book with proof of publication attached within 20 days after the publication of the Summary.

2. Ordinance 125 shall be posted by the Clerk at the Douglas County Library, 720 Fillmore Street, Alexandria, Minnesota 56308. Additionally, the entire Ordinance shall be available for inspection by any person by contacting Gregg Raisanen, Township Clerk, at Alexandria Township Office, 610 Fillmore Street, Alexandria, Minnesota 56308 or by calling him at (320) 759-5300 or by visiting the Alexandria Township web site at www.alexandriatownship.org.

SUMMARY OF AMENDMENTS

TO ORDINANCE 124

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Alexandria, Douglas County, Minnesota, have adopted Ordinance 125, Zoning Ordinance, effective immediately, to replace Ordinance 124 (Zoning Ordinance). Said Ordinance 125 generally regulates the size, location, and other characteristics of structures and buildings; the use of land, buildings and structures; the density of population; and other related improvements to land for the purpose of promoting the public health, safety and general welfare of the residents of the Township of Alexandria, Douglas County, Minnesota.

Specific amendments to Ordinance 124 included in Ordinance 125 are: The amendments would replace Section V.G (Sanitation) with a new section on the same subject that is consistent with the requirements of recently adopted amendments to Minnesota Rules 7080 and the section of the Douglas County Zoning Ordinance on the same subject.
