Alexandria gymnastics: Cardinals fall to Sauk Rapids-Rice

Alexandria kept it close during the Cardinals’ gymnastics meet with Sauk Rapids-Rice Thursday, but couldn’t quite get past the Storm, falling 138.95-138.2.

Hannah Wendel’s first place on vault was the only time the Cards took the top spot. Wendel scored a 9.3 in that event, then added a second on bars and floor and a fourth on beam to finish second overall in the all-around.

Briquelle Bowden earned a third place in the all-around as she was third on bars and beam, fourth on vault and finished with an 8.25 on floor.

The Cardinals will be at home with Melrose on February 5.
