Glenn Douglas Bearson III, 28, died January 18, 2013, in Okinawa, Japan, as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Glenn was born in Alexandria on October 28, 1984, the son of Jeanne (Splitstoser) Bearson and Glen Bearson Jr. He was baptized at First Lutheran Church, attended schools in Alexandria, and graduated from Long Prairie High School in 2003, where the majority of his time was spent in the auto shop re-building and repairing vehicles with his friends.

Fulfilling a childhood dream, in August 2003, Glenn enlisted in the United States Air Force. He completed basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas, and was stationed at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX, when he was blessed with the birth of his pride and joy, his son, Adrian Douglas. Glenn was also stationed at Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM and Hill AFB in Salt Lake City, UT with mulitple TDYs throughout the states and Guam. Most recently, Glenn served for one year at Kunsan AFB in Korea, and was beginning his third year at Kadena AFB in Okinawa, Japan.

Glenn was a civilian private pilot and an amazing mechanic who enjoyed rebuilding, supercharging and modifying his vehicles, building and flying RC airplanes, flying Cessnas over Okinawa, target shooting, and spending time with his friends cruising the Oki coastline on his motorcycle. From across the world, through the use of phone and video chat, Glenn was his brother, Billy’s “motorhead buddy” as they worked on engines together and talked shop for hours. He will be remembered as a great friend, an incredible brother, an amazing son, and most importantly, an extremely proud Daddy.
