Regional manufacturing group to discuss fiscal cliff outcome
Tri-State Manufacturers’ Association will host their general meeting on Tuesday, February 5, at the American Legion in Fergus Falls.
Tri-State Manufacturers’ Association will host their general meeting on Tuesday, February 5, at the American Legion in Fergus Falls.
The schedule of events will begin at 4 p.m. with a tour of West Tool and Design. West Tool and Design was founded by Don Westra in 1990 to be a supplier of fixtures and machine tools to the electronics industry. It quickly spread into a supplier of parts, machines and systems to customers serving diverse markets such as mechanical equipment, packaging and medical device industries.
Following the tour, participants will have time to socialize and network at the American Legion.
At 5:45 p.m., dinner will be served.
After dinner, meeting participants will hear a presentation from Scott Swanholm, Eide Bailly, entitled “Fiscal Cliff Averted! What’s New?” The “fiscal cliff” was in the news the last few months of 2012. Federal legislation was passed the last day of the year to avoid the negative impact of the fiscal cliff. During this session, you’ll learn the new and extended tax provisions found in the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 which was signed into law on January 2, 2013.
