The Silvestreak wrestlers won all three of their contests during the Osakis Duals Friday, defeating Benson, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted and Albany.

Brendon Coyer, ranked No. 2 in the Class A polls at 106 pounds, won all three of his individual matches by pin, while brother Trenton was also a three-win wrestler at 113 pounds behind two pins and a decision. Trenton Coyer is ranked No. 8 at that weight.

Colton Waldvogel, 126 pounds, won his three matches on a pair of pins and a technical fall, and Brandon Spanswick, 170 pounds, earned three wins on a pin, a forfeit and a decision.

At 182 pounds, Nils Hagen won all three of his matches by pin, while at 195, Mitch Sunder won his three matches on a pin, a forfeit and a decision, and Peter Hagen, 220 and 285 pounds, won three matches with a pin and a pair of forfeits.

Osakis is slated to be at West Central Area tomorrow, Thursday.

Paynesville 39, osakis 36

Osakis traveled to Paynesville Tuesday night to take on the always powerful Bulldog wrestling team, and jumped off to a big lead.

That lead, however, didn’t stand as the Bulldogs slowly worked their way back in to contention, taking over the lead after the 160-pound match and never relinquishing it from there, winning 39-26.

The Silverstreaks’ lighter weight started strong as Brendon Coyer picked up a pin, and brother Trenton earned a tech fall. Ryan Engfer added a win by decision before Colton Waldvogel picked up a pin.

From there, Osakis was held scoreless by Paynesville until the final two matches of the night when Peter Hagen and Garret Scherr both earned decision victories.

The Silverstreaks will be at the Kimball triangular next Thursday.
