Boys' basketball: Ashby rebounds to top Underwood

Ashby rebounded from its loss to Battle Lake last week, defeating Underwood 57-49 in Little Eight Conference boys’ basketball Friday.

“I really liked our intensity on defense tonight,” said head coach Jeremy Knick. “We communicated well and worked a lot harder. That was our emphasis tonight.

“I thought we did a nice job most of the night making them take difficult shots and getting deflections. I thought the team as a whole worked much better together on the defensive side. This was a good team effort and it paid off.”

The Knights, who are now 4-1 in league play, were led by Blake Ohren, Tanner Langlie and J.P. Moe who dropped in 16, 12 and 12 points, respectively.

Ohren also had eight rebounds, five blocks and three assists, with Langlie adding six rebounds, four assists and a block. Moe contributed five rebounds and three assists.

Gage Olson had eight points and four rebounds, Dylan Barry had seven points and five rebounds, and Allard LaRue and Morgan Wing had one point apiece.

The Arrows will be hosting Henning on Friday night.
