Boys' basketball: Minnewaska earns split

Behind Jake Amundson’s four 3-pointers, the Minnewaska boys were hot from behind the arc, hitting 8-for-17 in a 77-50 win over Paynesville Tuesday night.
Amundson finished the night with 20 points as the Lakers jumped to a 41-27 halftime lead over the Bulldogs and held on to that advantage through the second half.
Austin Giese added 12 points and Austin Ostrander grabbed 12 rebounds.
Minnewaska, now 4-10 on the season, will host Montevideo Thursday.

An ice cold first half was costly for the Lakers as Minnewaska fell to BOLD 55-50 Thursday night.
Minnewaska trailed by nine at the half, but found their stride in the second half, outscoring the Warriors 31-27. It wasn’t enough however, as Minnewaska fell to 3-10 on the season.
Austin Ostrander scored 16 points to lead the Lakers, adding eight rebounds, while Austin Lieser had 11 points and six rebounds.
Trent Athlmann led the Warriors with 18 points and Tyler Rock added 12.
The Lakers are now slated to play at Benson Friday.
