Alzheimer's class open to public

Ecumen Bethany Community in Alexandria is hosting a free Alzheimer’s disease education session on Tuesday, January 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the Kalina Hospitality Room at Ecumen, 1020 Lark Street.

Ecumen Bethany Community in Alexandria is hosting a free Alzheimer’s disease education session on Tuesday, January 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the Kalina Hospitality Room at Ecumen, 1020 Lark Street.

The session is designed to teach how people are able to adjust their communication style to accommodate the changes that occur in the brain as Alzheimer’s disease progresses.

Jess Steinbrenner, a regional care consultant for the Minnesota North Dakota Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association, will present.

Steinbrenner is a graduate student working toward her master’s in social work. She draws upon her professional experience working with caregivers as well as her personal experience with Alzheimer’s disease to educate and support others.

The public is invited to attend.
