It was a night of milestones for the Cardinal wrestlers Thursday as they handed Melrose a 51-13 loss.
Trent Piepenburg reached his 100th career victory as he pinned Antonio Ortiz in 2:50 at 113 pounds, and Tony Hubbard earned his 80th career win on a 6-4 decision over Tommy Latzka.
Alexandria has six pins in the match as Andrew Moske came up with a big 51 seconds fall.
“Andrew scored a first period takedown and was in complete control in the early stages of his match,” said head coach Tom Ellison. “Late in the first period, Andrew put the pressure on and was able to turn his opponent to his back and pick up the pin.”
Blake Olhausen, Jake Nienaber, Dan Oberg and Justin Cumberbatch all added pins, while Ben Bogart, Jacob Schiltgen and Dustin Neu rounded out the individual victors in the win.
The Cardinals will be at Sartell tomorrow night, Thursday. Alexandria stands in second place in the Central Lakes Conference.
