Mary E. Dickmeyer, age 84 of Alexandria, died as a passenger in a car accident on January 15, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona.
Mary was born July 30, 1928 in Benton, Kentucky to Joseph and Lorena (Hiter) Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Earl Bryant, Pat Boyer and Sally Bowling.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Everett; and children, Pamela, Diane Longerbone and Ronald (Diane); grandchildren, Laura, Jason, Andrea and Lindsey; as well as siblings, Joe Bryant, Virginia Hutchens and Bill Bryant.
Mary spent her early years in Kentucky and graduated from nursing school in Mobile, Alabama, working in Benton and Peoria, Illinois before moving to Minnesota in 1952.
She resided in Brooklyn Center and Plymouth for many years before retiring to Lobster Lake.
Mary enjoyed a long nursing career in OB/GYN at Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis and became a nurse practitioner, working from Nicollet Clinics in her later years.
She loved to show off her beautiful flower gardens to all her visitors at the lake.
Visitation is Thursday, January 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Chapel, 15800 37th Avenue North, Plymouth, and one hour before the funeral service on Friday, January 25 at 1 p.m. at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth, 12235 Old Rockford Road, Plymouth.
Memorials are preferred to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or donor’s favorite charity.
