Daniel Love, 56

Daniel Love passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 9:18 a.m. with his loving wife by his bedside. Daniel had fought a long battle with liver disease and was 56 years and 2 months old.

Daniel was born November 16, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Louis Mason Love and Ila Mae Love.

At the time of his passing, he was living with his wife, Donna Jo and his ever-faithful, ever-loving boxer, Duke. Daniel died just 10 days shy of his and Donna’s sixth anniversary.

He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. While serving his country, he worked on airplane engines of our fighter pilots. During this time he also was able to travel throughout Europe.

After being honorably discharged, Daniel returned to Mississippi and attended Mississippi State University where he studied aerospace engineering. He also loved riding motorcycles, working on old cars with his sons and still referred to his daughter as “Daddy’s Little Girl.”

He is survived by his wife, Donna Jo; three children, Daniel Adam Love, Sarah Danielle Love, Jacob Matthew Love (wife, Hunter); granddaughter, Emma Grace Love, all of Brookhaven, Mississippi; three brothers, Roy Love of California, Louis Love and Paul Love of Mississippi; two half-brothers, David Love of Mississippi and Joshua Love of Texas, half-sister, Becky Love of Mississippi; two stepbrothers, Bill Doonan and Tony Doonan of Mississippi; mother-in-law, Virginia Barten and brother-in-law, Darren Barten and many, many friends. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him!

A memorial service was held Tuesday, January 22 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Burial will be at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi.
